The Vice President of Systems Development leads a high-performing team of technology professionals to create and implement a technical strategy and provide business value by delivering superior IT solutions. Primary responsibilities include engagement and management of internal stakeholders and external vendors to understand business needs and how people, processes and technology can enable and improve operations and critical business processes. The role provides leadership in the research and development of new technologies, innovation, and creativity to drive improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Provides strategic direction and leadership to the Systems Development department. Formulates and communicates a clear vision for the organization’s systems development efforts, aligning them with overall company goals.
  • Proactively identifies and pursues continuous improvement opportunities to support the business needs with software applications that engage and enable users to operate more effectively and efficiently.
  • Stays updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices. Oversees the development of software solutions using the latest technologies and frameworks. Adapts the latest technologies and methodologies to enhance the organization’s systems development capabilities.
  • Implements and oversees Agile/Scrum methodologies to manage multiple projects effectively. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet high-quality standards.

Experience Requirements

  • 15+ years of systems development and software engineering experience with progressive levels of responsibility are required.
  • Experience required includes leading and delivering complex software projects to business specifications on time and within budget.
  • Supervisory/management experience at the director level or above required.

Education Requirements

  • Master’s degree in business or technical field preferred
  • Experience with leading a technically complex organization and external resource management preferred
  • Experience with real estate industry applications and systems preferred
