The Immigrant Rights Defense Center at Latino Memphis can help you with your DACA renewal application. You will need to bring your initial application if you have it, (if your DACA expired more than 12 months ago, you must include all the information and evidence that you submitted with your initial application) your current work authorization card, your social security card, and a money order for the filing fee of $495.00.

We have a list of Memphis job openings on our website. Latino Memphis does not have the capacity to assist with staffing or job applications. If you need access to a computer, Latino Memphis is able to provide a computer on-site.

No, Latino Memphis does not provide TN Identifications or any cards of identification. If you need TN identification then you can go to the Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV).

Yes, we do provide translation services for the community. We are able to translate at Latino Memphis but do not do off-site translation. You must be able to present yourself at our location in order for the translation service to be provided. We are able to translate documents but you must book an appointment at El Centro.

Everyone is welcome to walk-ins but for direct services (such as SNAP, passport, insurance,etc.) you must make an appointment. The appointments for direct services can be made in person or by calling, texting or reaching out to us on Facebook or WhatsApp.

Yes, we do handle DACA renewal cases but they are by appointment. DACA recipients, or any inquiries, should contact the direct line of Derechos at 901.410.0195.

Yes, Latino Memphis does help with school registration but it must Shelby County Schools. We are able to help students that will be returning to school (1st-12th grade). If your child is going to Pre-K or Kindergarten, they must go to the parent welcoming center or their designated school.

Yes, we provide low-income clinic referrals.

Yes, we have a list of different shelters in Memphis with the requirements of each shelter.

Yes, the process may take up to 2 hours. We have to ask for a dispatch to come to Latino Memphis and if you need a translator please let us know. You must schedule an appointment for these services. The service has no cost, but if you use a translator a donation is suggested.

We do not have a food bank at Latino Memphis, but we do have a list of different sites throughout the city of Memphis in which you could stop by for nutritional assistance.

Yes, we assist with filling out the U.S. Passport application and creating the appointment with the United States Postal Services (USPS) online for another day. You must bring the child’s birth certificate, social security number, identification of parents that appear on the birth certificate, and there is a fee of $15 for the first application and $10 for each additional. Both parents do not have to be present for the process at Latino Memphis but will have to be at the USPS appointment along with the children.

Yes, you can make an appointment for SNAP applications via online or in office. Social Security numbers, birth certificates, proof of rent or mortgage, proof of income, and MLGW bill are required for the application process.

Yes, if you need help with filling out and submitting the Coverkids (For pregnant women) and Tenncare (For children who are U.S. citizens or have been residents for 5 or more years)

It depends on the volunteer activity we have going on at the moment. We can let you know if the project you’re interested in has a minimum age requirement.

There are plenty of opportunities: from helping around the office to assisting during special events (e.g., dental clinics, tax advice, computer education). There’s always something different going on.

No. If you don’t speak Spanish, don’t worry. We can facilitate a volunteer opportunity that fits your talents.

No, Latino Memphis does not receive applications nor are we involved in collecting data from any interested applicants. Applicants must contact the employer directly. All hiring is done directly between the job applicant and the employer. Latino Memphis does not screen applicants for qualifications or work authorization. The Latino Memphis Job Center is a community resource which solely promotes job opportunities.
