El Centro serves as a vital link, connecting individuals with critical resources in health, justice, education, and more. With over 7,000 client visits annually, we collaborate with over 50 local nonprofits and agencies to meet the diverse needs of our community, especially focusing on vulnerable groups such as non-English speakers and those lacking documentation
Latino Memphis seeks to ensure that Latinos are on a path to improved health and self-sufficiency. However, the majority of our clients are in extremely vulnerable situations and many who visit El Centro lack sufficient documentation and English language proficiency to access available services, and do not have the knowledge to reach out to alternative resources. The majority of our clients are women between the ages of 20-60, with 2-3 children, an equivalent of a middle school education and little to no English skills.
Additionally, the rapid growth of this community has meant that regional nonprofits, healthcare providers and other social service agencies have struggled to keep up with the unique needs of this population. Latino Memphis works to bridge this gap and make meaningful services available to our community.

Fee Based Services
The following fees are paid to Latino Memphis and don’t reflect additional fees that may have to pay in order to process your request.
- Immigration legal services initial consultation
- U.S. passport application: $15 for the first application and $10 for each additional
- Birth certificate Request Application : $10
- Notary seal: $10
- Travel affidavit with notary seal: $10
Both parents or legal guardians must be present. Travel documents such as airline or bus tickets detailing travel schedule, destination and who is accompanying the child must be provided. Please bring valid identifications for all people involved in order to fill out an affidavit.
Partner Days
Latino Memphians can take advantage of a one-stop shop format in the office at El Centro. We have partnered with several community organizations to offer a variety of services.
Child Support Outreach Representative
A Child Support Outreach Representative is available to provide free information and answer questions about child support matters. They will be in the Latino Memphis Office twice a month please contact El Centro for current date and hours.
TN Healthcare Navigator
A Healthcare Navigator is available to help with coverage for CoverKids and Tenncare. They will be in the Latino Memphis office every week please contact El Centro for current dates and hours. An appointment is required. In person and over the phone appointments are available.

El Centro is open to the public
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9 am – 5 pm
- Wednesday: 9 am- 5 pm in office and 5-7 pm via phone
- Friday: 9 am – 4pm
El Centro is closed to the public on certain holidays:
- January 15, 2024 Martin Luther King Day
- July 4, Independence Day
- Wednesday, Thursday and Friday during Thanksgiving Week
- December Holidays: December 23, 2023 – January 3, 2024

U.S. Passport
Latino Memphis assists clients with filling out U.S. Passport applications as well as creating appointments with the U.S. Postal services for another day. These are the requirements for the appointments at Latino Memphis:
- Child's birth certificate
- Social security number
- Parent's valid identification (whomever appears on the birth certificate)DS-5525 for families under special circumstances.
The fee for this service is $15 per separate application and an appointment is necessary. Both parents do not have to be present at the Latino Memphis appointment, however, both parents and children must appear at the United States Postal Service Passport appointment.
