Tu Salud

Community Health

Through our efforts to mitigate the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, Latino Memphis became a high impact partner to address health disparities in the Latinx community. As a result, Tu Salud, meaning “your health”, was established in July 2021.

Tu Salud at Latino Memphis is working to address health disparities by informing, educating, and empowering individuals to advocate for improved health outcomes in the Latinx community.

For us, another significant opportunity towards social justice lies in the successful implementation of community engagement and empowerment initiatives aimed at improving nutrition and health. This work started with COVID-19 prevention and has since then expanded to include nutrition and general health initiatives that our Promotor@s, community health workers, lead.

Partner with us!

Many of the issues facing the Latinx community today are interrelated and ever-changing, necessitating a coordinated approach on the part of non-profit organizations internally and externally as well as with community stakeholders and city and county officials. Approaching said issues in this fashion allows needs to be addressed in a manner that exceeds the reach of any one single department or organization.
