The Opportunity
The Central Services Clerk performs functions in the mailroom and print shop. The Central Services Clerk will assist in the development and implementation of the print room in support of the Memphis Grizzlies and FedExForum staff. The Central Services Clerk will be responsible for the shipping and receiving functions of the mailroom and will act as a liaison between vendors and various customers including Memphis Grizzlies Staff. This position may assist with stocking, inventory control, packaging and distributing of products received.
Responsibilities
- Ship and receive various forms of equipment, merchandise and supplies.
- May assist with resolving discrepancies between billing invoice and actual delivery orders.
- Organize and schedule delivery times internally and externally.
- Assemble orders for shipment and count and check against shipping orders.
- Complete receiving reports, report shortages and damaged materials.
- Counts, weighs (if necessary), and checks incoming materials and supplies.
- Oversees the overall operation of Print Room.
- Operates high-speed, high-volume copy, printing equipment and business machines. (i.e.: Graphtec printer, meter & labeling machine, etc.)
- Operates paper cutters, lamination devices & folders.
- Liaises with paper vendors to facilitate office and specialty paper, maintain inventory of printing materials and refills toners & labeling equipment.
- Ensures all office areas are stocked with fax, copier, printer, and office supplies.
- Sort and prioritize incoming documents and copy requests.
- Interfaces with U.S. Postal Service, FedEx, and other couriers.
- Assists Director of Event Services as needed.
- Update employee listing and maintain records and masters of copied materials.
- Organizing accounts payable and accounts receivable, codes invoices and other accounting related task.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements
- Two (2) to three (3) years of experience in mailroom operation and shipping/receiving
- Forklift or other heavy equipment operation, including automated inventory methods, may be required
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations
- Excellent written and verbal command of the English language
- Excellent people skills with the ability to interact effectively with all types of people including staff and management, professional and elite athletes and entertainers
- Must be highly organized and detail-oriented with outstanding time/task management skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and to meet business plan objectives
- Demonstrate flexibility in satisfying customer demands in a high volume, production environment.
- Must be a team player with strong customer service focus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, holidays, and weekends when needed.
- Knowledge of sports and entertainment, specifically NBA basketball.
