We are seeking a private assistant for a couple in their 80s. $17-21/hour
Hours are from lunch range to late afternoon/early evening. 3-5 days. These hours may be broken up between two assistants. Please be comfortable with a lazy, older dog in the home.
Communicate brief, daily text update to client’s daughter
Collaborate with client and family members for best care or any changes that will help with the schedule
Responsibilities
- Preparing meals (lunch and dinner or snacks depending on appetite) – being comfortable in the kitchen is needed!
- Occasional housekeeping or errands to the store
- companionship and engagement to gentleman in his 80s, reminders for daily activities, and ensuring his medications are taken properly (these are pre-packaged at the pharmacy – encouragement and reminders needed).
Experience Requirements
- Previous experience in personal care or other related fields
- Compassionate and caring demeanor
- Ability to build relationship with clients
- Bilingual EN/SP highly preferred
