PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must have good physical and mental health, good sight and hearing. Must be able to turn, stoop, bend, stretch and lift to assist residents, make beds, move equipment and perform other related tasks. Using proper techniques must be able to transfer unassisted, weight bearing residents weighing up to 125 pounds from bed to chair to toilet. With the assistance of another person or Hoyer lift, must be able to transfer weighing up to 250 pounds.
DUTIES:
Patient Care:
1. Showers, bed baths for bed patients.
2. Dressing or assisting with dressing.
3. Comb or brush hair, clean fingernails, shave male patients.
4. Dentures clean and in mouth, mouth care.
5. Temperature checks when directed.
6. Weigh residents on regular monthly basis
7. Feed or assist in feeding.
8. Collect stool and urine specimens when directed.
9. Check wash basin, bed pans and urinals for cleanliness
10. Change bad linens on bath day and when needed, check to see if towels soap are available or any other items needed for personal care.
11. See that soiled linen is properly bagged, and that disposables are properly bagged.
12. Assist residents in walking and use of wheelchairs.
13. Mark clothing.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Handling and serving residents in a safe comfortable manner. Following instructions issued by Supervisor and following established Nursing Home routine. Perform duties in accordance with established methods and techniques and in conformance with recognized standards. Provide maximum patient care services within limits defined by delegated tasks. Maintain good housekeeping standards within assigned duty areas. Perform other duties as assigned. Maintain clean, neat, good physical appearance.
