Apoyo
Care for unaccompanied children apprehended at the border.
Unaccompanied minors arrive to our country alone, scared and often traumatized from their journey fleeing a dangerous situation. Apoyo Case Managers provide compassionate, peaceful, and healing case management services to help unite the minor with family or a sponsor in the U.S. and connect them to resources such as legal services, education, medical care.
Home Study and Post Release Services
Home Study is an in-depth investigation of a potential sponsor’s ability to ensure a child’s safety and well-being. Post Release Services is for children who benefit from ongoing assistance services which connect children and their sponsors to community based resources.
Home Study evaluates a potential sponsor’s ability to ensure the child’s safety and well-being. The process includes home visit(s), a face-to-face sponsor interview, and possibly interviews with other household members, and Post Release Services. Post Release Services are follow-up services based on the child’s needs after they leave residential care. Post Release Services coordinate referrals to supportive services in the community where the child resides to provide other child welfare services, as needed.
Without the nurturing services the Apoyo Case Managers provide, unaccompanied minors who cross the border into the United States seeking safety are vulnerable to trafficking and other abuses. We have over 7 years’ experience of caring for and reunifying thousands of children. Our mission is to protect vulnerable children and connect them as quickly as possible to a safe environment.
