Job Summary:
The Mental Health Therapist will work independently, and as part of a team, to foster the development of Treatment plans for children and adults. You will determine clinical appropriateness of clients for out-patient treatment, review, facilitate and complete initial assessments, and provide individual evidence-based therapy as indicated by the treatment plan.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Master’s degree in Psychology, Human Services or related field from an accredited university – requirement
LPC, LCSW, LMSW or be licensed eligible – requirement
Eligible for any/all credentialing required by regulatory and funding sources – requirement
Experience with seriously and persistently mentally ill consumers
Demonstrate an ability to work effectively in a treatment setting dealing with emotionally or socially disturbed individuals
Demonstrate an ability to use mature judgement in problem resolution, to function creatively in evolving appropriate treatment strategies for clients to operate effectively in a multi-disciplinary setting
Excellent writing skills are required as is the ability to conceptualize and document clinical treatment goals, activities and outcomes.
Organized with a strong attention to detail; able to multi-task and prioritize work
Establish and maintain positive working relationships with all clients, AHS employees and community you interact with as an AHS employee.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Provision of face-to-face clinical services to clients of AHS who have been referred for counseling/therapy.
If assigned to a grant funded program, he/she will also be required to provide and follow all grant requirements.
Participate in the development of treatment plan, therapy progress and discharge planning.
Make recommendations regarding the treatment of clients.
Provide clinical backup for other Mental Health Specialists.
