What if I live outside of Memphis?
Residents of Shelby County and surrounding counties in Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas may qualify. If you are unsure whether your location is eligible, call our office and we will help you determine your eligibility.
What proof of detention do I need?
Documentation may include a Notice to Appear (NTA), ICE paperwork, or a letter from an immigration attorney. If you do not have documentation, call our office. We can help you gather what you need.
How do I apply?
This is a referral-based fund, meaning individuals do not fill out the application themselves. To start the process, call our office at 901-366-5882. A staff member will assess your needs and, if eligible, our team or a partner organization will submit the referral on your behalf.

How will I receive money?
Funds are distributed through UpTogether. You do not need a bank account to receive payment; multiple options are available to ensure you can access the money safely.
Cannot apply in Spanish?
Yes. Our staff can assist you in Spanish throughout the application process.
What if I need more help than $500 can cover?
While this specific fund has a limit, Latino Memphis provides a bridge to other services, including immigration legal assistance, family reunification support, and community resource navigation. Let us know what you need, and we will connect you with the right program.
