Supporting Families in Crisis

In response to the sudden financial crisis many families face following immigration enforcement action, Latino Memphis has launched an Emergency Relief Fund in partnership with UpTogether. We are providing a one-time $500 support grant to help families navigate immediate needs at their own discretion, whether for rent, utilities, food, or legal costs.

Eligibility Requirements

We understand this is an overwhelming time. Our staff will guide you through every step of the application process with care and confidentiality. To qualify, applicants must:

  • Reside in the Memphis area or surrounding counties
  • Be experiencing extreme financial hardship
  • Demonstrate that an immediate family member has been detained by ICE

Your privacy is a priority. Latino Memphis does not share information with immigration authorities or government agencies. Data shared during the referral process is used strictly to determine eligibility and distribute funds.

No. A Social Security number is not required.

Immediate family includes a spouse, parent, child, sibling, dependent, or any other financial contributor living in the same household.

Residents of Shelby County and surrounding counties in Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas may qualify. If you are unsure whether your location is eligible, call our office and we will help you determine your eligibility.

Documentation may include a Notice to Appear (NTA), ICE paperwork, or a letter from an immigration attorney. If you do not have documentation, call our office. We can help you gather what you need.

This is a referral-based fund, meaning individuals do not fill out the application themselves. To start the process, call our office at 901-366-5882. A staff member will assess your needs and, if eligible, our team or a partner organization will submit the referral on your behalf.

Applications are reviewed as quickly as possible. Approved applicants typically receive funds within a few days.

Funds are distributed through UpTogether. You do not need a bank account to receive payment; multiple options are available to ensure you can access the money safely.
